Out of order

We have a wonderful regular visitor these days. I took this photo through our living room window. Our friend here has been spending a lot of time in a snag in our back yard. I wish I could put out a hawk feeder, but I don’t think it works that way.
The small linen quilt is nearly done, but I did a few things out of order, so I need to backtrack a bit. The linen blocks are not quilted heavily enough. I noticed this, of course, after I began binding it. Of course.
So I’m going back to quilt some more before finishing the binding.
Still, I’m pretty happy with the overall look of the thing. I quilted the black squares pretty randomly–sometimes stitching down the stems of the leaves, and sometimes quilting around them in narrow zig-zags. I used stitch in the ditch for the first pass on the linen blocks.
Now if only I can find more of the right green quilting thread . . .

Ooh, that’s pretty. I love the black fabric. Makes me want to dig out the unfinished quilt I have going … except someone has buried my sewing table with a futon mattress.
Waaah! You have better material than I do. Of course, I live in the back country, so that’s expected.
It looks wonderful, and unexpected.
Oh, aren’t hawks spectacular? I have so many flying around my house I have to be extra careful some days letting my little Maltese outside. She might look like lunch to them 🙂 And unfortunately, I don’t think there’s such a thing as a hawk feeder. But it’ll definitely help keep mice at bay!

Oh, what a cool quilt! I don’t know how you have time for it all.
A hawk feeder is just an ordinary bird feeder. ;o) I had to watch out for our puppy,Jazz, who only weighed a pound when we got him. There are so many hawks flying over the house up high. Owls were also a worry. We built a run for J because of birds of prey.
Light. What a problem! I say Pile light on the tent, really crank UP the wattage. Your bags are all so lovely! I’m suffering sewing envy. Can you tell? Window replacements are coming soon, and all studio benches stuff is piled onto the sewing machine and cutting tables.
Love those bright toed socks. You are braver then I.
